University of Macau (UM) students won one gold medal, one silver medal, and two bronze medals at the 14th National Student Sports Games between 12 July and 17 July. Chao Man Hou, nicknamed ‘Frog King of Macao’ and a member of the UM Swimming Team, won a gold medal in the men’s 100-metre breaststroke category and a silver medal in the men’s 50-metre breaststroke category. Cheang Weng Lam and Choi Ngou Fai, who are also members of the UM Swimming Team, both won bronze medals, in the women’s 50-metre breaststroke category and the men’s 100-metre breaststroke category, respectively. Leong Iok Chong and Vong Kok Weng, members of the UM Badminton Team, placed fourth in the men’s badminton double category, which is the best result Macao athletes have ever achieved in badminton at a national competition.
