A delegation led by Yang Yongping, president of Lanzhou University, visited the University of Macau (UM) on 1 June and was warmly received by Yonghua Song, rector of UM. The two parties held in-depth discussions on topics including academic exchange, collaborative research, and talent cultivation.
Song said that UM is committed to cultivating outstanding talent and producing impactful research outcomes. He highlighted that UM and Lanzhou University are highly complementary in terms of academic disciplines and have substantial potential for collaboration. He also expressed hope that the two universities will deepen their existing cooperation to facilitate reciprocal visits for students and faculty, develop academic and research platforms, and advance research collaboration in fields such as energy, medicine, and chemistry.
The delegation also visited the University Gallery, the State Key Laboratory of Mechanism and Quality of Chinese Medicine, and the State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City to learn more about UM’s campus development, research platforms, and progress in cutting-edge research. They spoke highly of the university’s educational achievements and its capacity for research and innovation.
