Yu Jiadong, vice minister of human resources and social security, along with a delegation, visited the University of Macau (UM). They were warmly received by UM Rector Yonghua Song and Vice Rector Ge Wei. The two parties held in-depth discussions on promoting talent cultivation and recruitment.
Song thanked the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security for its long-standing support of UM’s development. He then provided an overview of the university’s progress in terms of academic development, research platforms, and industry-academia collaboration. Yu spoke highly of UM’s research achievements, particularly its excellence in interdisciplinary research and talent cultivation. He also encouraged greater participation from young scholars in Macao in collaborative research projects between Macao and the Chinese mainland.
The delegation toured the State Key Laboratory of Mechanism and Quality of Chinese Medicine, the State Key Laboratory of Analog and Mixed-Signal VLSI, and the State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City. They were briefed on UM’s advancements in Chinese medicine research, integrated circuit design, and Internet of Things applications in smart cities.
