The University of Macau (UM) Student Affairs Office and the Chinese Debate Association recently co-organised a series of activities to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the University of Macau (UM) and the 20th anniversary of UM’s Mandarin Debating Team. The events were held with assistance of the Mandarin Debate Organisation under the UM Students’ Union and with sponsorships from the Higher Education Fund. The activities included the 16th UM Mandarin Debate Competition, a friendly debate competition between UM and the Macau University of Science and Technology, a workshop on debating skills, an award ceremony, and a celebration dinner for UM alumni.
