The Faculty of Education (FED) of the University of Macau (UM) organised the FED Summer Camp 2023, which attracted 30 outstanding students from top universities in the mainland. The summer camp offered a variety of activities, including lectures and hands-on experience, with the aim of broadening participants’ horizons in education, teaching, and research and enabling them to discover the characteristics of Macao’s education system and the charm of Macao’s world and cultural heritage. The participants came from Beijing Normal University, Southwest University, East China Normal University, and other mainland universities. At the opening ceremony, Kong Zhaowei and Zhou Mingming, associate deans of the FED, shared with them the methods of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and the health benefits of a low-carbohydrate diet, as well as information on admissions and scholarships for the master’s and doctoral programmes in education at UM. In addition to attending a number of talks at the university, the participants visited Seac Pai Wan Vocational and Technical Education Activities Center and Our Lady of Fatima Girls’ School to learn about the characteristics of Macao’s education system. Through the summer camp, the FED hopes to strengthen its connection with mainland universities and provide an opportunity for students and educators in Macao and the mainland to broaden their horizons.
