Mr. Zhao Guoqiang, full professor of the Faculty of Law, won the second prize at the "Ke-Chang Ma Cup" National Excellent Criminal Law Paper Award of the China Law Society, for his paper "Comparative Study of Concurrent-Sentence System in Mainland China and Macao".

The "Ke-Chang Ma Cup" National Excellent Criminal Law Paper Award, otherwise known as the Third Session of China Law Society National Excellent Criminal Law Paper Award, is a provincial- and ministerial-level scientific research award granted in the name of the China Law Society (selected every five years). The Award has chosen 102 award-winning papers from 1300 papers collected in the Chinese Criminal Law Society Annual Meeting proceedings during the period from 2006 to 2011. Among the 102 winning papers, twelve received first prizes, thirty received second prizes, and sixty received third prizes. Prof. Zhao is an expert on Macao criminal law, inter-regional criminal law and comparative criminal law. He is also the president of the Macau Criminal Law Society, and reselected as executive director of the China Criminal Law Association at the 2011 council meeting of the China Criminal Law Association. For many years, he has been dedicated to the studies of criminal law of Macao and mainland China. He is the only one from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao to win the award.
