The Centre for Teaching and Learning Enhancement (CTLE), University of Macau (UM), will offer eleven free workshops to help faculty staff and teaching assistants to improve teaching skills.

The workshops will be held in Room L105 in Luso-Chinese Building and Room NG03 in Choi Kai Yau Building on 23, 24 and 26 August from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. The workshops aim to help faculty staff and teaching assistants to get ready for teaching before the new semester starts. The three-day workshops will cover eleven topics, including “Hints for Teaching Asian Learners”, “Teaching Large Groups”, “Collaborative Teaching in Asia: Engaging Students in Active Learning”, “Teaching GE@UM: Developing Interactive Teaching and Learning for General Education”, and “Emerging Technologies and Techniques to Achieve Pedagogical Goals at UM”. Both rookie and veteran teaching staff are expected to benefit from these workshops.

Ever since its establishment, CTLE has been committed to helping the university achieve excellence in teaching and research. It oversees the new general education programme, focuses on faculty mentoring, innovative educational methods, the use of advanced technologies in the classroom and on-line learning, and provides a wide range of educational resources.
