A delegation led by Wu Jianping, president of Huaqiao University, visited the University of Macau (UM) on 23 October and was warmly received by Yonghua Song, rector of UM. The two parties held in-depth discussions on topics such as campus development, the development of disciplines, and ways to deepen cooperation.

During the meeting, Song highlighted UM’s involvement in the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, as well as its alignment with national development strategies. He mentioned that the university is leveraging its academic strengths and geographical advantages to establish an interdisciplinary innovation platform, aiming to address the region’s urgent need for high-quality talent and cutting-edge technology. He also expressed hope that UM and Huaqiao University will strengthen their cooperation.

The delegation also visited the University Gallery, Moon Chun Memorial College, and the State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City, where they gained an in-depth understanding of UM’s latest development plans, residential college system, campus development, and recent research achievements. They spoke highly of the university’s rapid development.
