A delegation led by Lu Jianhua, vice president of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), visited the University of Macau (UM) today (20 October) and was warmly received by UM Rector Yonghua Song and Vice Rector Ge Wei. A meeting was held during the visit, where the delegation learned about funding applications from experts and scholars in Macao.
During their time at UM, the delegation visited the State Key Laboratory of Analog and Mixed-Signal VLSI and the State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City, where they gained insights into UM’s innovative achievements in chip design and its latest research in smart cities. During the meeting, Lu said that NSFC greatly values technological innovation in Macao and will continue to support Macao researchers participating in national research projects through various funding schemes, so as to help develop the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area into an international centre for innovation and technology. Representatives from NSFC then presented an overview of NSFC’s international collaborative projects and its funding for projects in Hong Kong and Macao, as well as the funds granted by NSFC’s Department of Information Sciences.
