The University of Macau (UM) arranged for nearly 2,000 students, faculty, and staff to take part in activities commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, aiming to promote patriotism among UM members and enable them to gain a deeper understanding of the War of Resistance.

Around 1,000 UM members watched the live stream of the grand commemorative meeting marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. They listened to the speech delivered by the Chinese president and watched the military parade, witnessing the country’s military might.

About 700 UM members visited the exhibition ‘For National Liberation and World Peace—Thematic Exhibition Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War’ in groups. Through the exhibition, the UM members recognised the great significance of the victory in the War of Resistance.

In addition, around 200 UM members watched a patriotic movie in groups, fostering a correct understanding of history and recognising the importance of peace.
