To deepen cooperation and cultural exchange among higher education institutions in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Lui Che Woo College (LCWC) of the University of Macau (UM) and Minerva College of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen) jointly organised a three-day exchange programme in Shenzhen from 10 to 12 October 2025. Focusing on intangible cultural heritage and community service, the programme provided a platform for in-depth exchange between students from both colleges, showcasing the vitality and potential of the integrated development of education in the Greater Bay Area.
During the programme, LCWC students and faculty were invited to attend the second anniversary celebration of Minerva College, where the LCWC dance team delivered a spectacular performance. They also visited the modern facilities and library of CUHK-Shenzhen, experiencing the university’s rich academic atmosphere and unique learning environment.
Students and faculty from both colleges engaged in a range of activities. They attended a lecture on intangible cultural heritage, which encouraged deeper reflection on the diversity of Chinese culture and the importance of mutual learning among different subcultures. They also visited the Temei Enamel Painting Creation and Exchange Center, where they attended a workshop on cloisonné enamel painting and gained insights into this form of intangible cultural heritage. Additionally, they took part in three community service activities tailored to the needs of the elderly, children, and women in the local community, demonstrating the social responsibility and compassionate spirit of the younger generation.
Through academic discussions and cultural experiences, students from both colleges broadened their horizons and forged stronger friendships, laying a solid foundation for future cooperation. Both colleges expressed their commitment to deepening their partnership, exploring diversified cooperation models, promoting the innovative and integrated development of education in the Greater Bay Area, and nurturing future leaders who have a global perspective and a sense of social responsibility.
