The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance Annual Meeting and Presidents Forum 2025 took place today (11 July) at the University of Macau (UM). Under the theme ‘synergy across three places, sparking opportunities through higher education integration’, the forum brought together more than 180 representatives from universities and supporting organisations in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. In his opening speech, Yonghua Song, vice-chairperson of the alliance and rector of UM, said that the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance serves as a key platform for collaboration among universities in the three places, supporting China’s strategy to invigorate the country through science and education. He also highlighted its growing importance in advancing the strategy of building an international hub for high-calibre talent. Song noted that UM, as a member of the alliance, is committed to collaborating with other institutions to foster collaborative talent development, academic exchanges, research innovation, and industrial transformation.
