The spread of the novel coronavirus continues to pose significant health threats worldwide. In response, the Department of Accounting and Information Management, Faculty of Business Administration (FBA), University of Macau (UM), together with CPA Australia, recently co-hosted their first online seminar, titled ‘How to Become a CPA Australia Member’. The event attracted both undergraduate and postgraduate students across different disciplines, including accounting, business administration, economics, and finance.
At the seminar, Ms. Allison Zhu, Senior Business Development Manager, CPA Australia shared the examination structure, certification process, and professional assistance provided at CPA Australia. She also provided detailed information about exam exemption and relevant procedures, to help participants better understand the importance of obtaining a professional qualification in accounting.
CPA Australia is one of the world’s largest accounting bodies, with more than 160,000 members in 150 countries and regions. The professional accreditations help to reinforce the high quality and international perspectives integrated within the UM programmes. They also provide a head start for UM graduates in terms of professional qualifications, which can enhance their employability and competitiveness on the job market. FBA’s accounting programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels have obtained this prestigious professional accreditation with maximum exemptions. It means that graduates of FBA’s accounting programme can obtain the maximum exemptions of professional examinations from CPA Australia upon completing the required UM courses.
