Earlier this month, President Xi Jinping said: ‘The youth from Hong Kong and Macao are not only the hope and future for the two cities; they are also the fresh blood to contribute to the development of China.’ The development of the Greater Bay Area requires the joint effort of young people from the three cities. Taking advantage of its strengthen disciplines and its extensive network, the University of Macau (UM) has launched various strategies to prepare young people to contribute to the development of the Greater Bay Area and China. In this academic year, UM admitted more than 270 students from Hong Kong and nine cities in Guangdong province, in the Greater Bay Area, which is twice the number of last year.
