The University of
Macau (UM), the Health Bureau of Macao SAR and the Women’s General Association of Macau today (8 March)
co-organised a talk and a series of other activities to celebrate the
International Women’s Day and also to enhance women’s health awareness. The
speaker explained how HIV is transmitted, how to avoid contracting HIV, etc,
and answered the audience’s questions. Other activities included skin test,
body fat test, exhibition and booth games. Souvenirs and pamphlets containing
information about women’s health were also distributed. The activity attracted
about 150 UM staff and students. Ieong Sao Leng, director of the Rector’s
Office of UM, and Alice Tin, functional head of health & hygiene affairs of
the Office of Health, Safety and Environmental Affairs at UM, also attended the
activity.
