The outcome of the United States presidential election 2012 was announced on 7 November. The Department of Government and Public Administration, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Macau (UM), organized a lecture on the U.S. presidential election and its global compact on the same afternoon. The lecture attracted a large number of staff, students and media representatives. Four academics from the department, namely Prof. Andrew Moody, Dr. Chen Dingding, Dr. Song Weiqing and Dr. Aleksandra Thurman expressed their opinions on the key factors contributing to the successful re-election of Obama. They also discussed the global impact of the election from economic, political and other perspectives.
