UM’s YAIA visits the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of PRC in Macao SAR

Recently, Prof. Wang Jianwei, head of the Department of Government and Public Administration, and representatives from the Youth Association of International Affairs (YAIA), which is affiliated with the University of Macau (UM) Postgraduate Association, visited the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) in Macao SAR. Commissioner Hu Zhengyue and Vice Commissioner Song Yanbin warmly received UM delegation and expressed support for YAIA’s activities of promoting interest in and understanding of international affairs.

During the meeting, Hu talked with the students and encouraged them to study hard to become specialists in the studies of foreign affairs and international issues. Song told the students about the history, development, organizational structure and tasks of the office. Prof. Wang thanked the office for its longstanding support for YAIA’s work and told Hu and Song about the establishment and development of YAIA. YAIA President Que Wenjun told Hu and Song about the recent activities organized by YAIA, with focus on the upcoming second international affairs knowledge competition.
 

Song praised UM students for their interest in studying international relations and other international issues. He said that the office would continue to support YAIA’s work and provide resources and other assistance to YAIA-organized events, such as lectures on international issues, international affairs knowledge competition, visits to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Beijing, and participation in the Model United Nations. Students felt greatly encouraged, saying that they gained a great deal from the visit.
