An international conference on Chinese Foreign Policy at Its Crossroads: A Grand Strategy in Call will open at the STDM Auditorium of the Library of the University of Macau (UM) at 10:00 AM on 13 May and will end on 14 May 2010. The conference is organized by the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of UM in collaboration with the Global Forum of Chinese Political Scientists. 
 
Approximately twenty well-known scholars from the United States, Australia, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China and Macao will gather together to discuss new challenges and opportunities that Chinese foreign policy is facing and how China should respond and adapt to the new circumstances in which it rapidly emerges as a global player. The conference will be divided into 4 sessions and will discuss these topics: 1. General Thrust of China’s Diplomacy Strategy; 2. Major Power Strategies; 3. Security and Regional Strategies; 4. Domestic Sources of Grand Strategy. Prof. David Shambaugh, Director of China Policy Program of George Washington University, USA, will deliver a keynote speech entitled “China’s Competing Identities as a Major Power”.
