Zhou Hongtao, professor in the Department of Arts and Design in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Macau (UM), has been appointed as deputy director and founding member of the Design Committee of the China National Arts and Crafts Society (CNACS). This is a significant step for UM in aligning with the national strategy of design-driven innovation.
The inauguration ceremony of the CNACS Design Committee, alongside the Seminar on the Development of China Arts and Crafts Design in the New Era, took place in Nanjing. The event brought together experts and scholars from the fields of arts and crafts and design, industry representatives, as well as students and faculty members from higher education institutions across the country. During the event, Ma Da, deputy director of the CNACS Expert Committee, officially announced the establishment of the Design Committee and its leadership appointments. Prof Zhou also gave an overview of the UM Department of Arts and Design and engaged in discussions with other attendees at the seminar.
