To mark the 107th anniversary of the May Fourth Movement, the University of Macau Students’ Union (UMSU) held the 28th May Fourth Youth Summit from 27 to 29 April, bringing together student leaders from various university student unions and societies in Macao, Hong Kong, and the Chinese mainland. The event aimed to foster dialogue, mutual learning, and collaborative development among youth leaders from different regions.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, UM Vice Rector Mok Kai Meng said that the younger generation should take the initiative in considering how they can take on greater responsibility and contribute to national development. Lei Chi Seng, chair of the organising committee of the summit and vice director general of UMSU, expressed hope that the summit would promote mutual understanding and learning through dialogues and discussions among youth leaders from different regions.

This year’s summit featured a series of thematic sessions, alongside cultural exchange activities including a campus tour at UM, a visit to the Historic Centre of Macao, and a networking dinner. These activities aimed to deepen attendees’ understanding of Macao and encourage interaction between UM students and their counterparts from the Chinese mainland.
