The University of Macau (UM) today (29 November) held a talk titled ‘How Can Enterprises Promote Innovation through Knowledge Management?’ as the ninth talk of the UM Scholar Research Forum. Jacky Hong, head of the Department of Management and Marketing of UM’s Faculty of Business Administration, was the speaker. The talk attracted UM faculty members and students, as well as teachers and students from local secondary schools, who participated in the event either virtually or in-person. Innovation has become essential for modern businesses to remain competitive in the marketplace, but there is a limited understanding of how to drive innovation within a business. During the talk, drawing on contemporary theories of innovation, Prof Hong discussed the various types and characteristics of innovation and how knowledge management can have an impact on the implementation of innovation in businesses.
