The University of Macau (UM) Mandarin Debating Team recently won the championship at an international inter-varsity debate competition with a science theme. Members of the team also won the Best Debater Award in the final and the Overall Best Debater Award. The event attracted debating teams from over 300 universities in China and abroad, including the University of Oxford, the National University of Singapore, Peking University, Tsinghua University, and Fudan University.
