Organised by the Guangdong-HK-Macao Bay Area Entrepreneurs Union, the third award ceremony for outstanding young entrepreneurs in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) took place simultaneously in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and Macao with both online and in-person elements, with the event in Macao being hosted by the University of Macau (UM). 102 promising and representative young entrepreneurs with notable contributions to the development of the GBA were recognised, with eleven of them coming from Macao, including five UM alumni.

During the ceremony, Choi Koon Shum, representative of the organiser, standing committee member of the National Committee of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and chairman of the Guangdong-HK-Macao Bay Area Entrepreneurs Union; John Lee Ka Chiu, chief executive of Hong Kong SAR; Zhang Xin, vice governor of Guangdong province; Lei Wai Nong, secretary for economy and finance of Macao SAR; and Wang Qiang, head of the United Front Work Department of Shenzhen Municipal Committee, each delivered a speech. In his speech, Lei said that a year ago the central government announced the Master Plan of the Development of the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin and the Plan for Comprehensive Deepening Reform and Opening Up of the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone, which expanded the room for development in Hengqin and Qianhai respectively and encouraged young entrepreneurs from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao to pursue their dreams of innovation and entrepreneurship in the GBA. He added that the young entrepreneurs honoured at the ceremony had demonstrated their commitment to their country by taking the initiative to integrate into the overall development of China.
