The University of Macau (UM) today (28 December) held a closing ceremony at the Public Administration Training Centre for the first leadership training course for civil servants. During the ceremony, UM Rector Yonghua Song and Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau Director Kou Peng Kuan presented certificates to the students. In addition, Cheong Weng Chon, secretary for administration and justice, exchanged ideas with the 30 participants on the course’s content in order to make an improvement in the future. The three-month course was problem-oriented and aimed to cultivate innovative talent with practical skills. Focusing on two themes, namely e-government and cross-departmental cooperation, the course was taught by 36 instructors and was consisted of 360 teaching hours, including 225 hours of thematic learning and 108 hours of interactive and experiential learning, such as on-site teaching, group research, and study tours.
