Seven students from the University of Macau (UM) Public Speaking Team recently won two championships and seven other awards at the 13th Macao-wide English Speech Contest and the 20th “21st Century Cup” National English Speech Contest – Macao Regional Contest.
Qian Qiao, second-year postgraduate of translation studies from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FAH), received the championship in the open group and the Best Manner Award. Fesalbon Lisandra Wagan, second-year undergraduate of public administration from the Faculty of Social Sciences, received the championship in the university student group and the Best Impromptu Speaker Award. Cristina Lopes Monteiro, second-year undergraduate of English studies from the FAH, received the Most Humourous Speaker Award. Zhu Xuanzhi, Simone Chan, Lei Cho Hang, and Liu Zhen received merit awards.
