The University of Macau (UM) today (10 November) kicked off the Eighth Healthy University Week at its Sports Complex on the new campus. The opening ceremony attracted about 500 students, faculty members, and staff. The event aims to promote UM members’ awareness of health, safety, and environmental protection. It will last until 14 November.
Officiating guests at the opening ceremony included Tong Chi Kin, convener of the Group for Promotion of Science under the Macao Science and Technology Council; Cheang Seng Ip, deputy director of the Health Bureau of Macao SAR; Chan Tan Mui, secretary of the Macao Health City Committee under the Health Bureau of Macao SAR; Tang Ut Mei, head of the Employment Department under the Labour Affairs Bureau of Macao SAR; Rui Martins, vice rector (research) of UM; Alex Lai, vice rector (administration) of UM; and Peter Yu, dean of students of UM.
