Dr. Xue Hanqin, the first Chinese female judge of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) of the United Nations, and doctor honoris causa of the University of Macau (UM), gave a talk entitled “International Law in a Pluralistic World” on Wednesday 7 May at UM. The talk attracted a full-house audience of faculty members, students and Macao residents. During the talk, Dr. Xue discussed the basic principles in international law within the context of the historical changes of international law, and explained the relationship between these principles and international order. UM’s University Council Chair Dr. Tse Chi Wai, accompanied by UM Rector Wei Zhao, presented the certificate of the honorary degree to Dr. Xue.
