The University of Macau (UM) recently organized a series of activities to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the founding of its Mandarin Debating Team. Nearly thirty old team members from around the country, including Beijing, Shanghai, Fujian, Hong Kong, Fuhan, and Zhuhai, made special trips back to the campus to celebrate the anniversary.
The Mandarin Debate Team was founded in 2001. With the joint efforts of Head Coach Prof. Yin Degang, Team Leader Mr. Samson Cheong, and all other team members, the team has made fast progress over the last decade. So far the team has won eighteen championships (including two international championships, one national championship, and four regional championships) and four international and national second-place prizes.
