Mr. Fan Xing, a student of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at the University of Macau (UM), received the first prize at the City Literary Awards 2011 for the category of modern poem. The City Literary Awards is part of the City Literary Festival 2011 co-organized by the City University of Hong Kong (CUHK), Hong Kong Arts Development Council and Macao Foundation, and the award presentation ceremony was held at CUHK on 18 May. The activity aims to encourage youth participation in Chinese literary creation and enhance literary exchange between the two cities. This year’s competition had four categories, namely prose, novel, modern poem, and literary and art review, with first, second, third and fourth prizes for each category. More than 350 people from Hong Kong and Macao participated in the activity.
