University of Macau (UM) students won several prizes at the 11th Macao Inter-tertiary Debate Competition and the 12th Macao-wide English Speech Contest. UM’s Mandarin, English and Cantonese debate teams won several championships. The Public Speaking Team also won its first championship at a speech competition. A reception was held recently at UM’s Cultural Centre. Vice Rector (Student Affairs) Prof. Haydn Chen attended the celebration. He congratulated the students on their successes and encouraged them to keep up the good work.
