The University of Macau’s (UM) Martial Arts Team won 26 prizes at an international wushu championship for Chinese practitioners, which was held in Taiwan, including 20 first prizes, 5 second prizes, and 1 third prize. In addition to individual prizes, the UM team also received the best team award and the wushu culture exchange contribution award. The team’s coach Lai Iam Fong received the best coach award. Co-organised by the Chinese Taipei Shaolinchuando Association and the government of Taichung city, the championship attracted over 2,500 participants from 19 countries and regions around the world.
