Prof. Tam Kam Weng from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Macau (UM) received an "outstanding contribution award" from the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE) in Japan, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to wireless communication research and academic exchange. Normally this award is granted only to Japanese scholars and research personnel working in the field of wireless communication. Prof. Tam is the only foreign scholar to receive this prestigious award this year and is also the first scholar from Macao to ever receive this award.
