The University of Macau (UM) Research Centre for Humanities in South China and Centre for Chinese History and Culture recently held the Seventh Southern China Humanities Forum, which focused on cultural self-confidence. The event attracted over 250 participants, including scholars, writers, and literary researchers, from more than 20 countries and regions, including China, the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, Southeast Asia, and East Asia.

During the event, Yonghua Song, rector of UM, and Wu Zhiliang, president of the Board of Directors of the Macao Foundation, delivered opening speeches. Moderated by Zhu Shoutong, director of the Research Centre for Humanities in South China, the conference covered three main topics related to cultural self-confidence in its six keynote speeches. Participating scholars came from various prestigious institutions, including the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Chinese National Academy of Arts, Peking University, Fudan University, Nanjing University, Zhejiang University, Sun Yat-sen University, and Wuhan University.
