The University of Macau (UM) Students’ Union held an inauguration ceremony for the 28th-term leadership of the union and its affiliated organisations. The ceremony was attended by UM officers, guests from various sectors, and representatives of student unions from other higher education institutions.
During the ceremony, the new leadership took their oaths in the presence of Chan Iok Wai, head of the Department of Students of the Education and Youth Development Bureau of the Macao SAR government, and Paul Pang, dean of Students at UM. In his speech, Pang recognised the contributions of previous terms of the Students’ Union in serving students and supporting the university’s development. He also encouraged the new leadership and its affiliated organisations to continue creating platforms that help students broaden their international perspectives and apply their talents to contribute to Macao and the country. Wong Hio Wa, President of the Presidium of General Assembly, said that the new leadership will further enhance the union’s service quality and efficiency. She added that it will work closely with affiliated organisations to better address students’ needs, enrich campus culture, and support students’ all-round development.
