Four student teams from the University of Macau (UM) won one first prize, two second prizes, and one third prize at the 19th ‘Challenge Cup’ National College Student Extracurricular Academic and Technological Works Competition. They were also awarded the ‘Excellence Cup’ in recognition of their overall team performance. The competition received over 400,000 entries from more than 2,700 universities across the country.

Led by Distinguished Professor Zhou Xiaobo, Associate Professor Wan Feng, and Assistant Professor Wang Ye in the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), the four UM student teams participated in the competition held in Nanjing. All four entries submitted by the UM teams were awarded prizes: A team from the Institute of Microelectronics won a first prize for their project ‘A High-Efficiency and Misalignment-Tolerant Wireless Power Transfer System for Smart Warehouse AGVs’; a joint team formed by the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences received a second prize for their project ‘Chloroplast Pro-Inflammatory Vesicles: Harnessing Photonic Energy to Activate the Tumor Immune Microenvironment’; a team from FST was awarded a second prize for their project ‘Enhancing AI’s Understanding of Your Emotions: An Adaptive Proactive Brain-Computer Interface System Based on Emotional Large Models and Multimodal Feedback’; and a joint team formed by FST and the Institute of Collaborative Innovation received a third prize for their project ‘A blockchain-based RWA solution for on-chain vehicle ownership sharing and leasing’.
