A delegation of national model workers and craftsmen led by Wei Dichun, vice chairman of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, visited the University of Macau (UM) today (24 October). During the visit, members of the delegation shared their experiences and encouraged UM students and faculty to pursue excellence and innovation.
UM Vice Rector Michael Hui, on behalf of the rector, warmly received the delegation and provided an overview of the university’s history, development, and research layout. He highlighted UM’s commitment to leveraging its strengths and producing more research outcomes to support Macao’s economic diversification and integration into national development. Hui also expressed hope that the visit will foster greater understanding and respect among UM members for national model workers and craftsmen.
The delegation then visited the State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City to learn about its latest research achievements and their application prospects. They spoke highly of UM’s research strengths in fields such as smart cities.
