The Joint Seminar between the Faculty of Law of the University of Macau and the Peking University Law School took place at the University of Macau (UM) on 11 November. Themed ‘The Evolution of China’s Foreign-Related Rule of Law from a Comparative Law Perspective’, the seminar brought together legal experts from both universities to discuss ways of bridging the gap between cross-border legal practice and legal regulatory interface.
The seminar was moderated by Jiang Chaoyang, professor in the UM Faculty of Law (FLL). Tong Io Cheng, dean of FLL, and Tang Jinnan, party secretary of Peking University Law School, delivered speeches, in which they both emphasised the importance of comparative law research for the development of foreign-related rule of law. Shui Bing, professor in FLL, gave a keynote speech on the differences in legal practice between Macao and the Chinese mainland.
