The Faculty of Law (FLL) at the University of Macau (UM) held a seminar on 4 November to discuss the key messages conveyed in the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. During the seminar, FLL Dean Tong Io Cheng and Associate Dean Iau Teng Pio, along with other faculty members and students, discussed ways to promote the long-term prosperity and stability of Macao and Hong Kong, the implementation of the ‘one country, two systems’ policy, and the 15th Five-Year Plan.
Huang Wenjun, deputy director of the Department of Legal Affairs of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR, also attended the seminar. The seminar focused on three key topics: implementing the principle of ‘patriots administering Macao’, integrating into national development, and establishing a talent hub. Jiang Chaoyang, director of the UM Centre for Constitutional Law and Basic Law Studies, presented Macao’s development directions as set out in the Recommendations of the CPC Central Committee for Formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development adopted during the plenary session. Several FLL faculty members also shared their insights on various issues.
