About Umac Bridges

This autumn’s issue of Umac Bridges purposely chooses the “Sensation” as the central theme. We apply our five senses - hands, eyes, ears, mouths and noses – to comprehend the numerous aspects of Macao:

-To touch – Macao’s inner world
-To see – Macao’s present and future
-To hear – Macao’s silence and noises
-To taste – Macao’s traditional and fashionable flavors
-To smell – Macao’s cross-cultural fragrance

Umac Bridges is a campus publication as well as the academic project by 4th year English Communication students in the Department of Communication, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Macau. Through this publication, students can apply skills of journalism, desktop publishing, web design and event planning and implementation, which they have learned throughout the academic years to an actual project. The aim of this publication is to cultivate the sense of news of UM students and call their attention to issues happening around them. The magazine also has an online version, which experiments with some multimedia news stories.
