The 14th International Conference on Chinese Language Pedagogy, jointly organised by the University of Macau (UM), Minzu University of China, and the University of Rhode Island, was held at UM recently. The theme of this year’s conference was ‘Chinese language education in the context of globalisation: teaching and research’. More than 200 experts and scholars from around the world attended the conference. Eight well-known scholars in the field of Chinese language education were invited to attend the conference as keynote speakers. They were from the University of Rhode Island, UM, Minzu University of China, Stanford University, Fudan University, East China Normal University, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Tsing Hua University in Taiwan, respectively. Participants held in-depth discussions on Chinese language education, Chinese proficiency tests, Chinese language teaching materials, and other related topics.
