The Faculty of Law of the University of Macau is going to launch a Chinese law book entitled “O Regime Jurídico do Contrato – Promessa”. This new book is the first publication in the series “Teses e Estudos”.
With an aim to cope with the demand for juridical studies in Macao and to encourage both academic staff and students to publish their research results so as to promote juridical research, the Faculty of Law of the University of Macau specially produces the book series “Teses e Estudos”. “O Regime Jurídico do Contrato – Promessa” is the first in this series. Tong Io Cheng, the book author, is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Law as well as the Coordinator of Bachelor of Law in Chinese Language Program. The new book has been produced based on Tong’s thesis “O Regime Jurídico do Contrato-Promessa em Macau” which had been submitted for his Ph.D. in Civil and Commercial Law in the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. It has investigated, profoundly and systematically, the basic theories of preliminary contracts. It has also made a critical analysis on the existing system of such contracts in Macao, hoping to provide instructional suggestions for further improvement.
A launching ceremony will be held for the new book, on 21 November at 11:30 am, in Room L105 of Luso-Chinese Building of the University of Macau. Interested parties are welcome.
