This seminar is designed for students in M.Ed. and Ph.D. in Education. It covers the following topics: purposes of sampling, probabilistic vs non-probabilistic sampling, stratification vs clustering, multi-stage sampling, etc. We will also emphasize the link between representativeness and research objectives. The uses of non-probabilistic sampling, say convenient sampling, is common in many M.Ed. thesis and hence their justifications are also discussed.
All are welcome (especially for the M.Ed. thesis and Ph.D. thesis students)
