{"id":364153,"date":"2024-12-03T17:59:57","date_gmt":"2024-12-03T09:59:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.um.edu.mo\/news-and-press-releases\/press-release\/detail\/59783-2\/"},"modified":"2024-12-03T18:23:47","modified_gmt":"2024-12-03T10:23:47","slug":"59783","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.um.edu.mo\/pt-pt\/news-and-press-releases\/press-release\/detail\/59783\/","title":{"rendered":"Academic symposium on Greater Bay Area held at UM"},"content":{"rendered":"\n                        \n                        <p>The Academic Symposium on the Guangdong-Hong\nKong-Macao Greater Bay Area, jointly organised by the Centre for the\nGuangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Studies of the Faculty of Social\nSciences (FSS) of the University of Macau (UM) and the Institute of Guangdong,\nHong Kong and Macao Development Studies of Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU), was\nheld at UM. Under the theme \u2018Focusing on Macau, Embracing the Greater Bay Area\u2019,\nthe symposium brought together more than 40 experts, scholars, and policy\nresearchers to discuss how to promote coordinated regional development, with\nthe aim of enhancing Macao\u2019s prosperity, and strengthening the overall\ncompetitiveness of the Greater Bay Area.<\/p><p>In his opening remarks, Hu Weixing, dean of\nFSS, highlighted the significance of the symposium. In his speech, He Junzhi,\ndirector of the Institute of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Development Studies\nof SYSU, emphasised the importance of integrating empirical, theoretical, and\npolicy research in the study of the Greater Bay Area and strengthening\ncooperation among higher education institutions and research institutes in mainland\nChina, Hong Kong, and Macao.<\/p><p>The two-day symposium featured presentations\nand discussions on a range of topics, including social governance,\ninstitutional innovation, regional integration, economic diversification, and\ninnovative practices in the Greater Bay Area. Participants described the\nsymposium as both informative and engaging, adding that the event not only fostered\ncooperation and exchange but also provided multidimensional and interdisciplinary\nperspectives for future development.<\/p><div><table style=\"max-width: 100%;border-collapse: collapse;border-spacing: 0px;margin: 0px 0px 40px;font-size: 16px;text-align:
