{"id":363102,"date":"2024-11-27T18:29:00","date_gmt":"2024-11-27T10:29:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.um.edu.mo\/news-and-press-releases\/press-release\/detail\/59718-2\/"},"modified":"2024-12-10T13:25:01","modified_gmt":"2024-12-10T05:25:01","slug":"59718","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.um.edu.mo\/pt-pt\/news-and-press-releases\/press-release\/detail\/59718\/","title":{"rendered":"Estudantes de DPA da UM aprendem sobre governa\u00e7\u00e3o social e inova\u00e7\u00e3o empresarial em Hangzhou"},"content":{"rendered":"\n                        \n                        <p>Students from the Doctor\nof Public Administration (DPA) programme in the Faculty of Social Sciences\n(FSS) at the University of Macau (UM) conducted a study tour in Hangzhou, with\nthe aim of gaining first-hand insights into the city\u2019s smart city development\nand exploring social governance and business innovation.<\/p>\n\n<p>Led by FSS Dean Hu Weixing\nand Assistant Dean Wen Bo, 25 students from the DPA programme first visited Zhejiang\nUniversity (ZJU). They toured the History Museum and the Ideological and\nPolitical Education Base of the School of Public Affairs, where they gained a deeper\nunderstanding of the school\u2019s development and its latest achievements in\nideological and political education. They then attended a lecture on \u2018Social\nGovernance and Zhejiang\u2019s Experience\u2019 delivered by Fan Bonai, associate dean of\nthe Institute for Public Policy of ZJU. In the lecture, Prof Fan offered an overview\nof Zhejiang\u2019s theoretical innovations and practices in enhancing social\ngovernance, improving people\u2019s livelihoods, accelerating reforms in the social\ngovernance system and mechanisms, and advancing the Chinese-style modernisation.\nThe lecture sparked lively discussions among the study tour members.<\/p>\n\n<p>During their stay in Hangzhou,\nthe group visited several public administration service institutions. At the\nHangzhou Government Service Center, the group learned about the city\u2019s initiatives\nfor smart city development and governance, which include advancing government\nservice reforms; fostering a high-quality business environment; improving\npublic services by accelerating the development of smart healthcare, smart\neducation, and smart elderly care through advanced technology, and promoting\ncommon prosperity through charitable initiatives. At the Hangzhou Citizen\nService Center, they participated in in-depth discussions with representatives\nfrom the Foreign Affairs Office, the Administrative Examination and Approval\nOffice, and the Data Resource Bureau on public service platforms and smart city\ndevelopment.<\/p>\n\n<p>In addition, the group\nvisited the Alibaba\u2019s Xixi Campus, where they attended talks and site visits to\nlearn about the company\u2019s efforts and successful practices in global\ncooperation, digital transformation, and its environmental, social, and governance\n(ESG) initiatives for innovative, green, and sustainable development.<\/p>\n\n<p>Dean Hu said that through\nsite visits and face-to-face exchanges, the DPA students gained a deeper\nunderstanding of social governance, smart city development, and business\ninnovation. The study tour broadened their horizons, enhanced their overall capability,\nand strengthened exchanges and joint teaching between UM and mainland\nuniversities, government agencies, and renowned enterprises. It also provided\nnew insights for UM to explore innovative teaching models under the \u2018one\ncountry, two systems\u2019 policy with Macao characteristics.<\/p>\n\n<p>UM\u2019s Doctor of Public Administration (DPA) programme is\nthe first doctoral programme in public administration in China that uses Chinese\nas the medium of instruction. It is practice-oriented and aims to produce professionals\nwho are well versed in both theory and practice. Since its launch in 2021, the\nprogramme has been well received, with enrolment increasing every year.<\/p><p><\/p><table style=\"max-width: 100%;border-collapse: collapse;border-spacing: 0px;margin:
