A delegation led by Jo\u00e3o Soares Martins, rector\nof the Universidade Nacional Timor Lorosa\u2019e (UNTL), visited the University of\nMacau (UM) today (25 November), and was warmly received by Yonghua Song, rector\nof UM. The two parties signed a cooperation agreement and had in-depth\ndiscussions on promoting exchanges and cooperation between the two universities\nin various fields.<\/p>

Song said that UM attaches\ngreat importance to internationalisation, and the cooperation agreement will\nlay the foundation for academic and cultural exchanges between the two\ninstitutions. He added that the two universities will jointly organise student\nexchanges, scholar visits, and academic seminars to promote the sharing of\neducational resources and the exchange of students and faculty. Martins said\nthat the visit provided UNTL with a better understanding of UM\u2019s strengths,\ninternational education model, and research layout. He expressed hope that UNTL\nwill enhance its teaching and research capabilities through exchange and\ncooperation with UM.<\/p>

The delegation also\nvisited the Faculty of Health Sciences, State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in\nChinese Medicine, UM Library, Faculty of Law, and Department of Portuguese to\nlearn about UM\u2019s academic layout and research facilities. They spoke highly of the\nuniversity\u2019s academic structure and research development, as well as its campus\ndevelopment and environment.<\/p>
