The conference brought together experts and\nscholars from mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macao to present their latest\nresearch findings and contribute their wisdom to the innovation and development\nof sustainable energy and biomass materials.<\/p>\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>Zhou Wanhuan, associate dean of UM\u2019s Faculty\nof Science and Technology (FST), said that biomass is a safe, environmentally\nfriendly, and renewable energy source, and is the only renewable and harmless\ncarbon resource. The utilisation of biomass energy and materials is an\nimportant pathway to achieving the \u2018dual carbon\u2019 goal. As a result, biomass has\nattracted considerable attention from governments and environmental scientists around\nthe world, and has become a popular research area in the field of energy. She\nadded that as one of the organisers of the conference, UM hopes to take the lead\nin strengthening cooperation, technological exchange, and talent cultivation\namong scientists in the field, while promoting the application of biomass energy\nand materials in China, with a view to playing a role in future energy supply\nto address global climate change.<\/p>\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>The conference focused on the\ndevelopment, processing, and application of biomass energy, biomass policies\nand their implementation, sustainable energy and circular economy, as well as\nhow to improve the utilisation of biomass energy in China to ensure national\nenergy supply. Experts and scholars shared their latest achievements and\ncutting-edge technologies in their respective research fields.
