The “Sino-American Trade and Economic Relations” Seminar organized by the Hong Kong-America Center and hosted by the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Macau is part of the ongoing outreach programs between the two parties. The seminar, to be held between 4:00 pm and 5:30 pm at the American Corner, University of Macau Library on 1 June 2007 (Friday), will be conducted by Prof. David Michael Lampton, a specialist in Chinese domestic politics and foreign policy.<\/p>
Prof. David Michael Lampton is Dean of Faculty at the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and Professor of Chinese Studies at the Johns Hopkins University. A specialist in Chinese domestic politics and foreign policy, his articles have appeared in numerous major publications. In addition to his academic post, Prof. Lampton is also a member of the Executive Committees of both the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations as well as the Council on Foreign Relations. He served as the National Committee’s president from 1988 to 1997. Prof. Lampton received his Ph.D. from Stanford University as well as an honorary doctorate from the Russian Academy of Sciences’ Institute of Far Eastern Studies.<\/p>
