Prof. Rik Carl D\u2019Amato, director of the\nCentre for Teaching and Learning Enhancement (CTLE) and professor of\nPsychology, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Macau\n(UM), has been appointed by the International School Psychology Association\n(ISPA), the world\u2019s largest association of international school psychologists,\nas the founding editor-in-chief of its new journal International Journal of<\/i> School\nand Educational Psychology<\/i>(IJSEP), for a five-year term. Prof D\u2019Amato was\nappointed editor-in-chief at the 34th annual conference of ISPA held in\nMontreal, Canada. IJSEP will be published by Taylor & Francis four times a\nyear starting 2013.<\/p>\n\n

IJSEP invites\npapers from researchers and practitioners alike, and requires the authors to\nfollow the most recent APA Style Manual<\/i>\nas well as all ethical and style guidelines. Its editoral board is made up of\nindividuals from around the world, including senior scientists and\npractitioners as well as a group of student reviewers. The journal seeks to bridge\nthe gap between Eastern and Western psychological practice. It accepts\nempirical papers that contribute to the knowledge base of teaching, learning,\nschooling, cross-cultural psychology, school psychological services, applied\neducational psychology, special education, new models of learning, and other\nrelated areas.<\/p>\n\n

D\u2019Amato is an award-winning professor who has been serving at UM for five\nyears. He is the founding head of the Department of Psychology and the director\nof the university-wide CTLE. A well-known scholar, he has published and\npresented more than 400 articles, books, chapters, and papers internationally.\nHe is a fellow of the American Psychological Association (APA) in School\nPsychology and in Clinical Neuro-psychology. He previously served as the\neditor-in-chief of School Psyhology\nReview<\/i>, a publication of APA. Much of his career has been dedicated to the\ncreation, dissemination, and preservation of new knowledge.<\/p>
