{"id":194879,"date":"2014-12-12T17:29:09","date_gmt":"2014-12-12T09:29:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.um.edu.mo\/sem-categoria\/2014\/12\/30755-pt_pt\/"},"modified":"2014-12-12T17:29:09","modified_gmt":"2014-12-12T09:29:09","slug":"30755","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.um.edu.mo\/pt-pt\/news-and-press-releases\/press-release\/detail\/30755\/","title":{"rendered":"College Master Chung Ling receives certificate of commendation from Hong Kong SAR government"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Prof Chung\nLing, founding master of the University of Macau\u2019s (UM) Cheng Yu Tung College, on\n2 December received a certificate of commendation from the Hong Kong SAR\ngovernment, in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the arts and\nculture in Hong Kong\nduring her tenure as the dean of the Faculty of Arts at Hong Kong Baptist\nUniversity by establishing several influential literary programmes and by\nproviding services to government committees.<\/p>\n\n<p>Prof Chung\nLing is a renowned fiction writer, poet, and scholar of China-West comparative\nliterary studies. She held leadership positions at well-known universities in\nthe United States and Taiwan for 20 years. She was the dean of the Faculty of\nArts, chair professor, and associate vice-president at HKBU. During her time at\nHKBU, she founded the International Writers Workshop and the Dream of the Red\nChamber Award: the World\u2019s Distinguished Novel in Chinese.<\/p>\n\n<p>The\ncertificate presentation ceremony was held at Hong Kong Cultural Centre in\nKowloon.
