The Fourth Global\nConference on Materials Science and Engineering was recently held at the\nUniversity of Macau (UM). This year\u2019s conference attracted more than 200\nrenowned scholars and researchers from 17 countries. The event aimed to provide\na platform for experts and scholars from around the world to discuss the latest\nresearch findings in the field of materials science and engineering.<\/p>
Prof\nHarry Bhadeshia from the Department of Materials Science & Metallurgy, University\nof Cambridge, delivered the first keynote speech, which was focused on his\nresearch findings in nanostructured metal. The lecture attracted a full-house\naudience.<\/p>
Other\nkeynote speakers at the conference included Prof Harry E Ruda from the Department\nof Materials Science & Engineering, University of Toronto, Canada; Prof\nChen Jen-Sue from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Cheng\nKung University, Taiwan; Prof Kwok Chi Tat, associate professor of the Department\nof Electromechanical Engineering and interim director of the Institute of\nApplied Physics and Materials Engineering (IAPME), UM, Macao; Prof Tang Zikang,\ndirector of the Nano Science and Technology Program in the Department of\nPhysics, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong; Prof Sammy\nChan from the School of Materials Science and Engineering, University of New\nSouth Wales, Australia; Dr William M Cox, director and principal consultant of Corrosion\nManagement Limited, the United Kingdom; Dr Alexander Khotsianovsky from\nPisarenko Institute for Problems of Strength of the National Academy of\nSciences of Ukraine, Ukraine; Prof Sigitas Tamulevi\u010dius, member of the European\nMaterials Research Society and professor of the Physics Department, Kaunas\nUniversity of Technology (KTU), Lithuania; and Dr Willi Pabst from the\nDepartment of Glass and Ceramics, University of Chemistry and Technology,\nPrague (UCT Prague), Czech Republic. The speeches covered a wide range of\ntopics, including materials characterisation and testing, anti-corrosion materials,\nand ceramics materials.<\/p>
\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<\/p>
The previous CMSE conferences were held in the mainland\ncities of Zhoushan, Xianning, and Shanghai, respectively.\nPapers accepted by this year\u2019s conference will be published in SCI\njournals, including Materials Research Innovations, Strength of Materials, and Anti-Corrosion Methods\nand Materials.<\/p>
